Let Beauty and Magnetism Unfold from Within

Let beauty and magnetism unfold from within
In my favorite beach village of South India there are many so called “beach boys”.
Since I’ve been visiting this place for around six years, I know them all.
They are young guys working in hotels and restaurants.
Some are only after women and dream of marrying Western women as they see them as their ticket to freedom. Some focus on earning money only, whilst waiting for a better job to come along.
In that particular village all beach boys copy the style of Bob Marley. They have dreadlocks or long loose hair, and wear multiple Caribbean-style bracelets. They dress in bright colors, smoke, and play Frisbee on the beach.
Except for one.
Arun is different in all respects. He doesn’t form his style by copying others. He doesn’t abandon his preferences for the sake of the culture he belongs to.
He stands out because he’s not trying to stand out. He doesn’t wear “look at me” clothes or multicolored bracelets, and his hair is cropped short. It’s not his appearance that draws attention, but him being happy with who he is.
He’s not coming from the mindset of lack. He’s happy with himself and satisfied with his self. He’s not trying to attract attention in any way, and this attracts.
His behavior speaks tons about who he is. When he talks to anyone, he’s very polite and reserved. Every single woman that knows him considers him a gentleman, and that’s a very unusual compliment to hear about the men of that village!
He’s kind and gentle, and unlike other beach boys who wear their life stories on their sleeves, he’s slow to reveal details about himself. He prefers to listen more than to speak, and he never speaks unless he’s asked. This adds to the mystery that people feel about him. He’s like a gift in multiple wrappings – the more you get to know him, the more interesting it becomes.
His posture is straight and it speaks of confidence. His facial features are very average, yet women adore him. That shows that it’s not about the surface beauty only – it’s about who he is, his energy, character, the way he comes across. Whilst other Indian men strive to keep their facial skin as light as possible, he’s always in the sun and thus of dark color. Again, he doesn’t care about what’s currently in fashion – he’s just being himself.
When I walk past him, there’s none of that sleazy beach-style look filled with lust of seeing a woman. Instead, I see respect and happiness in his eyes. I remember my ex-boyfriend used to dislike him, because he was the only man that I really liked to talk to besides himself!
Whilst all other beach boys make tremendous effort to “get women”, he makes no effort whatsoever, yet women fall in love with him constantly. Unlike other beach boys who change girlfriends like socks, I’ve never seen him dating anyone. Again, he’s acting opposite to the culture around him.
It’s so unusual to see a man who’s totally at peace with himself and doesn’t take ambitious action. Among all the needy people, he stands out like a diamond. This total lack of neediness is very attractive, because it shows that one acts from the sense of abundance and is satisfied with oneself.
He knows who he is. His style is unusual and beautiful because it’s his style. He just lets it unfold from within, disregarding the style that’s in fashion in that beach village.
So often people are shaped by their environments, completely disregarding who they are as individuals. This is especially obvious in India, where many people don’t even know that they are unique, because they’re busy striving to fit into the culture by identifying with the roles considered respectable.
If you listen to your heart, and shut your ears to what role the society demands you to play, you, too, will grow into a unique, beautiful and magnetic individual. If you allow your true essence to come through, this of itself will make you God-like in the eyes of the masses – because that’s so rare.
