Absolutely Refuse to be Affected by Low Moods

Absolutely refuse to be affected by low moods
Although both low and high moods are caused by the same thing – nerve agitation – it’s the low moods which people find unpleasant.
Long-term meditators perceive all mood degrees as damaging, because they overstimulate sensitive body nerves and cause us to see distorted reality.
Though to the people still operating from the mammalian (limbic) brain it seems like a person who isn’t ruled by emotions but thinks clearly and intelligently is cold and impersonal, nevertheless this kind of state of being is higher than being a slave to emotions and thus making easily avoidable mistakes.
But there’s an even higher stage than that, where intellect hands over the reins to the heart intelligence, which is impersonal and unconditional love – the intelligent melody of the Universe keeping everything in place.
Whether the environment affects you positively or negatively, the agitation is the same, though in varying degrees. On one side lies perceived pleasure and happiness, on another – disgust and unhappiness. The same scale, yet different sides of it.
It’s important to understand that this scale is not you. Degrees of happiness or unhappiness comes from your reactions to the world. When you react to the hooks of the world, they keep you trapped in this dimension, and thus you can’t perceive things spiritual. You’re then unable to feel heavenly joy and bliss and understand your free and immortal nature, because your emotional reactions to this world keep you earth-bound. Then the world seems heavy and cold, and you seem a little mortal body, and nothing more.
You must understand that there’s no inner scale within you. Within you is only peace and bliss, but you cannot perceive it if you allow the world to tell you what you should feel.
Whenever you perceive that this emotional scale was brought into play, quickly affirm that whatever moods of it bug you are not you. You are greater than any petty mood that tries to disturb your peace. You are a spark of God – you are not a slave of any shade of emotion that’s of this world and not of you, and that’s called forth as a result of a reaction to some external event.
When you truly know that you are not your moods, and that therefore you can choose not to be affected by them, it’s truly liberating. Then you no longer identify yourself with the mood that begs your attention, and thus it doesn’t take you on a ride of painful ups and downs. Your mind can still choose to be agitated for a while, but you stay away from this drama, standing in peace and maybe with a mild interest in the show played out in your mind.

Ego talk and learned reflexes

For such a liberating attitude to be your reality, it’s important not to give in to the egoistic suggestions that are triggered by low moods which people confuse with self talk. It’s really not a talk of your real self – it’s desperate ego attempt to bring your moods down.
Such ego talk could be suggesting anything, like:
“I’m in such a big trouble.”
“The world is such a cold and cruel place.”
“Nobody likes me.”
“I feel so lonely.”
“Disasters keep plaguing me.”
And so on, and so forth. These suggestions have no intelligence by themselves; as I’ve just mentioned, they may come from the ego, especially as a response to your attempts to raise your vibration. When you attempt to live a pure life, ego won’t like it. For some time it will be very vicious in trying to bring you down, since life of purity equals ego destruction, and of course ego wants to be kept alive and in control of your life.
Or such suggestions could simply be your learned verbal responses to life’s disasters. If you repeat in your mind something disempowering every time some problem arises, it can become a habitual response to a negative event.
Since such responses are trained, they can be replaced with new, more empowering reflexes. I know you can do so, because I did so.
You can replace a self-sabotaging suggestion that brings your already lowering mood even more down with an inner success coach that instantly uplifts you and makes you hopeful. To do so, whenever some negative event happens and you feel your mood going down, get into the habit of saying:
“I am not my moods. They can go up and down without me being affected in any way. I can actually be entertained by this drama.”
Or you can say something positive as such:
“I am a spark of God, an eternal soul. No littleness of the world can touch me. I remain equally unaffected by anything the world shows as real and important and demanding attention, because the world is NOT my home, but a temporary place to learn the lessons and move on.”
Or you can make up your own empowering message, of course.
If you say such an empowering affirmation every time you get upset, eventually it will resound in your mind on its own, triggered by the low mood. I know this will happen because it happened to me too.
Whenever something negative happens, here’s what I hear in my mind, with different variations (and keep in mind, I retrained my mind to respond this way, and now this self-affirmation starts without any of my conscious involvement):
“It’s okay, I know soon things will work out. It could have been so much worse! And if I don’t focus on this little problem, but instead focus on my continuous success and keep my eyes open to possible solutions, this little cloud will soon disappear, like it never was.”
Training your mind to respond to problems in an empowering way is the most liberating thing you can do to free yourself from the slavery to low moods.

Watch out where your energy flows

It’s important to know where your awareness goes during low moods. If it goes to low moods, you’ll feel horrible and you’ll derive the meaning from your low mood which it doesn’t have. The low mood will feel almost tangible, and this will upset you even more. Your channeled energy to this illusion that the mood is makes it more and more real.
But if your energy goes to an empowering suggestion to yourself instead, soon low moods will be no more. And if it goes to God, in prayer to give you strength and inspiration, low moods will vanish so fast you will wonder how you felt them so intensely a moment ago.
The trained response of the world is to focus on the negative thing. So when someone is depressed, the focus is on depression. But that makes it last longer. People focus on wars, suicides, economic disasters, and all the other horrible things. But I say focus on things you want to experience, and those horrible things, not being fed by your attention, will disappear into nothingness.
All the shocking newspaper headlines glorifying the horrors of wars and murders are affirmations and worship of evil, and everyone reading and reacting to such stories are willing participators and maintainers of this alternative reality. How long will this insanity last? Do people really want to live in this old worn-out cruel world, when Christ-consciousness is so near and promises Heaven on Earth?
No wonder so many people are depressed. All they pay attention to is crimes, horrifying news scenes on TV, negative headlines of newspapers, complaints of their friends, personal troubles… What you pay attention to you’ll react to, and if what you pay attention to is negative, the mood will go down.

The absence of worldly moods heals the mind

I refuse to maintain the collective reality of unhappiness. Instead, I’ve joined the ranks of those who maintain and live in the world of peace, happiness and abundance. You can do so too.
Though you’ll get people who’ll criticize you for your unwillingness to pay attention to poverty and wars, the most important thing is to heal your mind, because only when you heal your mind, can you start healing other minds.
When your mind is healed by your attention being only on what’s good and whole, your mere presence will be the most soothing balm for the hurt and chaotic world. As the mind is really ONE, the more parts of it heal, the better it is for everyone.
So don’t think that by changing your mind about how you see your personal woes and how you react to troubles of all sorts you’re only helping yourself. You’re helping everyone! By deciding not to respond to low moods but instead to focus on empowering self-affirmations or a hopeful prayer, you’re making a little bit easier for other people to select such a positive response too.

You are greater than petty moods

Your mood is such a tiny aspect of your life that you shouldn’t concern yourself with it. It has its own law, and you have your own law. Its law is to react with happiness or unhappiness, hate or love, pleasure and displeasure to external stimuli.
Its law says that whenever you’re identified with happiness that came as a result of something external, the scales must with time swing to the other direction and produce unhappiness. So people jump up and down, losing themselves in externally stimulated happiness, only to feel sad and lonely soon after.
The less you lose yourself in external phenomena, the less you’ll get bruised by the scales swinging to the other side. And the less you choose to agitate your mind with these happiness and sadness swings, the more you’ll perceive inner stillness, until you uncover permanent bliss which can only be perceived by those choosing to no longer identify with the emotions caused by the external world.
As you get mindful about your identification with artificially caused happiness and sadness, you may perceive that both of these moods are painful, because both of them are not You. They obscure your true being from your awareness.
These identifications cause the dramas of the world, and so the wheel of the illusion keeps spinning. If you refuse to take part and get off it, you’ll join those who watch the drama of life dispassionately and with clear understanding. Only this can allow you to understand the mechanism of the illusion, and only this can help you help others.
Keep this eventual disidentification from moods in mind, and though for the time being these pesky moods may still plague you sometimes, their intensity won’t be as great as before, because now you’ll know for sure that these moods are not you. They lose half of their power over you when you’re no longer identified with them.
Later, due to your objective observation of them, you’ll really come to the conclusion that these moods are devoid of any kind of meaning or intelligence; they’re merely learnt reflexes to external stimuli. When you keep going about your day disregarding these little nuisances, they, getting no ‘daily bread’ in the form of your attention, will disappear as though they never were.
Do not be a slave of the unconscious reflexes; they’re not intelligent, and they’re not meaningful. They’re automatic triggers, and therefore it’s dangerous to allow them to steer your life; they’re blind drivers and if you allow the wheel of your life to be steered by them, an accident is bound to happen. Don’t make them in charge of your life not even for a moment, but keep steering your life with a clear mind, or, even better, the guidance of your Higher Self.
Nothing and nobody external should dictate your attitude and behavior – allowing such a thing to happen denies your inner power. No more dancing to the flute of moods, likes or dislikes, or your environment – get in control of yourself totally, and this manifested power and integrity will quickly bring you better circumstances, easier life, and trouble-free existence.

Last advice

Whenever you become aware that you’ve identified with a low mood, straight away create a gap between yourself and the mood, and affirm that you’re not the mood. Then say something empowering, or say a prayer, and allow your focus to be only on the empowering statement or the prayer, until the mood, not getting fed by your attention, disappears into thin air.
Let these petty automatic reactions to external stimuli never obscure your Divine Origin and sacredness. Let they never obscure your Inner Peace and Bliss. Let your awareness quietly dwell in the bliss of your inner being, and when you drink enough of its deep waters of inner tranquility and joy, your mind will become whole again, and will affect others just by your being, and will make it easier for everyone to understand that they’re not puppets of high and low moods, but beings absolutely in charge of their life experience.
